Cycling Is Done(?)

This morning, I checked my ammonia (.25 ppm) and I was curious if the nitrites had appeared yet. So I do the test and left the room and came back and the nitrite tube was dark purple! I was excited because it ment my cycling was almost done, and then out of interest I checked the nitrates. I came back and there were nitrates present! Its weird, because I've only been cycling for 2 weeks! And i've heard that it can take up to 8 weeks just for nitrites to appear. So am I super lucky or have misread the tests? I wouldn't say you're almost done! But looks like your cycle's progressing nicely.You could have nitrates because some bacteria are already there starting to convert the nitrites, or you could just have nitrate in your tap water which is fairly common. Now you just need to wait for those nitrite levels to go down, then you'll be almost done

Your no where close to being done. Ammonia takes approx 7 days to 1st drop then double that time for nirites to start then approx another 2-3 weeks to complete depending on factors. you cycle seems to be on course so onwards
