I recently bought a 40 litre aquarium to keep 3 musk turtles in...I put them in a couple of days ago and the water has remained very cloudy..i know im naive on this subject, but id like to know what i need to do to keep my little turtles healthy and swim in nice clean water... i have a interpet PF2 filter..but it doesnt seem to do much..please help..once again, thanks for reading.

IMO i dont think any type of turtle belongs in a 10 gallon, let alone 3. for your water problem i think you should do daily water changes until your filter cycles

Hi,
Cheers for the response, the turtles are only hatchlings,so theyve got pleanty of space for the time being,so ya reckon a complete water change everyday? when will i know my filter has become cycled? Cheers for helpin :good:

+1 I say for 2 musk turtles a 20g at least, 10g for 3 musk is to small, as said already keep doing daily water changes until cycled.

Also, just done a volume calculation and its 27g...i dont feel quite so bad now...

Not to sound sarcastic, but isn't turtles and clean water a bit of an oxymoron? Turtles are some of the messiest eaters I've ever seen.
