Culling plants from my tank

Hey all

I need a bit of help on where to start culling my jungle Val in my tank. It’s super healthy and just grows so quickly. Any suggestions?

Wow it is really doing good, I gave up on jungle val between the mystery snails eating it and it melting or just breaking up and floating away. I would clear the area between the front glass and the sunken boat in the middle.

I have never had a problem with my jungle Val, so super hardy and healthy. I have to hair cut it all the time or it gets over a metre long. No fertiliser or anything. I have ambulia in there but you can’t see it as my Val is taking over lol

Maybe try selling on ebay or to your lfs? Mature plants would probably get a decent price

So you plan on only having val in the background? I liked the look of having it on the sides too, but it would depend on how much you want to see the fish.

Sorry about the glare... looks heaps better I think without the sides. Opens it up heaps more but it looks like I have no fish now lol

Your right, it is more open and I can see your fish that is the most important thing

Okay so fish ideas, what are some fish I can put in? I don’t want anything big or aggressive. I’ve just culled them all now. I want something that is going to fit in with my cories as well and minimise the eating of eggs and fry?

just want to maybe add one more species?

Nice tank there, although I would ditch the fake stuff and get more bog wood in there with a nice big shoal of tetras, stunning.

I was think tetras tbh. The fake stuff you mean the shipwreck etc?

I have a weakness for small tetras so I agree with others but a 55 gallon can also be great for larger fish.
