Just been to Maidenhead aquatics (Wyevale in Northampton) and they have Cuban Humpbacks (no latin name on the tank though) - Described as livebearers. About 1inch in size the female (I guess as they have a dark belly a bit like a female guppy when its about to pop fry) was fairly plain and the male top fin was yellowy/green with a tail a bit like a platty. Quite attractive/interesting/inquisative fish.

Does anyone know about these or have any information on them.

Thank you
Andy

did you ask the shop maybe they can give you a latin name.

Could it be the humpback limia, limia nigrofasciata? 2.75 in. (7 cms); old males develop a prominent humpback; hardwater fish; like to be in groups; like a vegetable element in their diet.

Mystery solved - they are limia nigrofasciata. Have one male and two females now so hope they will do ok.

Thanks for your help
Cheers
