Hi all, I searched the net for answers, but could not find what I needed, so if you know that this is discussed somewhere on the forum, please post a link.
I have some plants in my 29 USG tank including 2 cryptos. After transferring them from my 10 USG 10 days ago, I have noticed dark bands (kinda translucent) on the leaves of my larger crypto. My tank has LED lighting and I know that the LEDs are not that strong in general (unless you get highpower LEDs). I have also added TETRA FLORAPRIDE solution that has soluble potash (K[sub]2[/sub]O 3.00%) and iron (Fe 0.19%) to the tank water. pH is 7.6-7.8 and hydrometer reading is about 1.005. Ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels are fine as well. Tank floor is covered with gravel if it make a difference.
I have uploaded some pictures to Yahoo's Flickr. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I appreciate any suggestions. :)

Do I need to make a CO[sub]2[/sub] injector for higher CO[sub]2[/sub] concentration?

PS. I know cryptos and water lilies. can you tell me what the other two plants are (I forgot to keep the labels when I bought them  )

Crypts don't like being moved and can often melt before re-growing a while later. Whether yours are melting or not I'm not sure but they probably are just adapting to their new environment.

As for your other plants I can see Elodea Densa in pic 0325 and Dracena in 0317 which is unfortunately not an aquatic plant.

Thanks for the info. So the cryptos should be fine at the end, provided I don't move them anymore. Will the dark bands go away or should I do something extra?

Will I need a CO[sub]2[/sub] injector? I like the idea of doing little DIY projects :D but the question is that if I really need one with this number of plants.

What should I do with the dracena then? should I take them out and put only the roots in water? Funny thing is that they were in the aquatic plants section at my LFS. I hate it when the staff recommend things that are not going to work in a tank :grr:

What are some good low light plants that I can place in place of the dracenas?

I think your Crypts will recover if left alone for a while. Hopefully somebody else will know if the black bands are a sign of nutrient deficiency or something because I'm not sure.

I don't think you NEED a co2 system because you have low lighting.

A lot of places sell Dracena as aquatic, no idea why or how they keep getting away with it. You could use it as any other house plant. Don't leave it in the tank though because it will start to rot after a while.

As for low light plants, Crypts, Java Fern, Anubias, Hygrophila varieties and Moss should do well.
