CRUEL

So far I'm still stuck on the comment that fish belong in anks and in the sea. One, I think they belong in the creeks, streams and rivers as well, and two.... Yes, we did make up the name ornamental fish, we also came up with the idea that they should be in tanks. I don't see how one can be right and the other wrong...

I don't think they 'belong' in a tank per say, but the ones that are in tanks should be well cared for, a thing I think we can all agree on.

Besides, pictures of goldfish in too small of tanks and pictures of incompatible or overstocked tanks are on almost any fish tank box I have ever seen. From an advertising standpoint you want to make the tank look good, look appealing, show exciting and colorful fish. It's people who take these pictures as stocking procedure that think Nike shoes will make you jump like Shaq, or that movie deaths are like real deaths, or that 'hey, they did it on Jackass, so I should too!'.

And that, people, is just plain stupid.

but websites like this encourage people to keep fish as decoration

everyone i know keeps their fish and tanks as "decorations" and "furniture" doesn't mean the fish are ill treated or looked after less than any other fish. nothing wrong with that infact i bought my tropical tank purely as it matched the furniture in my loiunge and i have stocked it will coloufull fish to add decoration to the room. that doesn't mean my fish are ill treated.

I cant see anything wrong with anything the company selling exept the tackyness of the items

ummm, fish dont belong in fish tanks. only place they belong is where they come from, unless you have a huge pond to mimic their environment. we just put them in fish tanks so we can watch them.

i dont see whats so disgusting about any of them people keep there bettas in 1 gallon tanks dont they, and if you look at the photo frame one (picture 2 of the photoframes) you'll actually see that it is a 1 gallon tank with a picture frame infront of it so it looks like its in the picture frame but actually its not.

just the pictures, wouldn't advise anybody to put a fish in them, but the other products are quite cool.

ye but wilder, they werent actually in the pictures there is a 1 gallon tank behind the picture frame

To be honest wouldn't even put a betta in a one gal.

Other the the gold fish I think it is fine. I don't want any of their products but there is nothing cruel about the products.

ok i think we'l end this forum post here. i offered my opinion on this and further looking into it i admit i was wrong....... cheers for making me feel so #### guys! :-(
i believed this was a friendly forum not one that was gonna rip apart peoples views!

Whoa, did I miss something? When did anyone get attacked? This discussion has been fairly civil. That's one of the reasons I like fish forums. People, even when they don't agree, are usually civil and don't get personal.

Try going to a Star Wars forum and start a thread titled "I Love Jar-Jar"

If you think those tanks are cruel...you are free to think so. People who don't think so...if based on proper care techniques...are also free to think that.

The picture frame tanks took me a minute. I am so used to seeing them where they are 8 x 10 inches and about 2 inches thick.
