Crikey, I Knew They`d Be Small But These Are Tiny!

Decided against getting the purple pencil fish and got some chilli rasboras instead. Even though I knew they`d be small at 1.5cm but I can`t believe how tiny they actually are......but they`re really lovely and so perfect for the shrimp tank!
I got 6 but may get another 6 as there`s loads of room for them.
They`ve been acclimatised and in the tank for about half an hour now and they`re already exporing the plants and giving the shrimp a bit of a nudge......quite funny really seeing as my adult shrimp are almost bigger than the rasboras

lol I second that...PHOTOS!

I used to have Jamacian blue guppies who are about half the size of a normal guppy and my shrimp were bigger.

The advantage of smaller fish are; the shrimp won't hide like they would with bigger fish and my shrimp used to swim after the fish on occasion .

I however upgraded their overstocked small tank to a much larger one; something went wrong and I lost them all . I really want some more shrimp

I'm thinking of putting more into my 35L (it only has one platy in it).. how many more could I get, and what could I mix with my amanos?

The only thing is, I can only get amanos locally, so i'd have to order.

I wouldn`t recommend red cherry shrimp with the platy to be honest, as they breed like rabbits and the platy will more than likely eat the babies as they`re really tiny. I think the Rasboras may be too small as well but I`m not 100% on that so hopefully someone else will be able to advise you on that.
You`re better of sticking with the Amano shrimps if you`re planning on keeping the platy as they are difficult to breed and are too big for Mr Platy`s mouth

I`ve had a look on the eBay listing details for the rasboras and it says that they shouldn`t be kept with anything larger than Blue Rams so maybe they would be ok with a platy?
