So it seems that my Dwarf Gourami went and got himself stuck in my sunken pirate ship today and scraped his skin above his head before his dorsal fin. Its basically the fish equivalent of a brush burn. His scales are scraped back and you can see a little flesh behind them... Other than that he looks OK. Theres no discoloration or sign of secondary bacterial infection, yet. Water params are excellent, 7.8/0/0/10 pH/NH4/NO2/NO3 so I'm not worried there. I've treated the tank with Melafix as this seems like the right thing to do to help him heal his wound. Just want to make sure there's nothing else I should do for him. Tank temp is 77 farenheight which I believe is about 25 celsius. Just want to make sure I'm doing everything I can

Yes you have done the correct thing, good luck.

Sweet, thanks. He's still looking OK tonight. No signs of secondary infection and hes still gobbling up food like the pig that he is.

That's good then bless him.
