hi all well i was wondering if i could keep a crayfish in my african cichliud tank or would the cichlids try and eat him

yep the fish killing the Cray would be a real possibility. but a good set of hides will help. what Crayfish were you thinking of putting in there?

well there are plenty of hiding places if one of the fish try to attack him and i am thinking of just getting a blue yabby that all i know as i am getting it from my pops dam

Another issue you need to consider is that the yabbie occupies the same level as the mbuna, and yabbies hunt at night. Personally I just don't think it's a good idea.

yeah everything is going well the 2 crayfish eat the food i bought for them they are specialized yabbie pellets the fish don't bother the yabbies and the yabbies don't bother the fish so everything is working out fine. the reason I caught the yabbies from my pops dam rather then buy is that they would have cost m $60 (australian) where as i got them for free
