wow they are fab and the tank looks ace

bizarre how you have made a decent display out of two gulpers, I would have thought they would have been pretty static but they look ace.

Pier used to have these in all the time in small tanks for sale, wasalways tempted but never did

do they ever take the danios or plattys?

I know people keep them in much smaller tanks, and I think that is ok as they are not active at all. But, I thought they were so good I would give them a much bigger tank to roll around in. It is probably wasted on them in the day or when the bright light is on, but once I turn on my LED lights (very weak but good enough for me to see and yet not bright enough for them to be bothered), they really come alive. They swim all over the tank, side to side, top to bottom. Often they can be seen hovering face up, belly towards the glass - it's quite a site with their brilliant white bellys (see pic below).

They have been in captivity for a good few years now and they seem to have lost all will or knowhow to hunt for food. They do not touch or even concern themselves with the smaller fish (Danios, Platys, SilverTip Tetras). They won't even eat a prawn if I leave it on the substrate, it has to be fed to them like in the vid. They are lazy. If I didn't feed them then maybe they would go for the smaller fish, and I certaily haven't tried them with anything large. They tend to go for heads I read so something big might be a target. Who knows though, their lack of interest in the smaller fish is astonishing. I haven't lost any small fish since they went in 8 months ago. The Platys breed like crazy too.

ps. apologies if anyone outside of USA/Canada can't see the second video, Youtube have blocked it cos it detected copyright songs. :S
