My tropical 60 litre tank was wiped out a month ago by a disease brought in by new fish, and only my apple snails and ghost shrimp survived.

So I am looking to restock, preferably with 2 or 3 big fish instead of little ones.

Any suggestions? Either tropical or cold water, as I can always take the heater out and relocate the shrimp.

I imagine smaller goldfish like pearlscales are out of the question, even if I just had 1? Although I would love them.

Too small for goldfish of any kind.

Trio of honey gourami?

There isn't much 'big' that will work here. The biggest fish you could probably fit are some gourami (honey or dwarf), or some dwarf cichlids like blue rams etc. A few female betta?

Oh I didnt mean really big dont worry. Just something bigger than the livebearers I had in there before.

Gouramis are a good idea. I think a couple of honeys will make the tank look empty though. Is the tank big enough for a trio of dwarves? Or P@H reccommended pearl gouramis, but are these too big?

What cichlids would work? I hadnt considered them.

Honey gouramis or yellow gouramis get bigger than dwarf gourami so a trio of either would probably be ok and the biggest fish you could put in the tank IMO, don't know that much about cichlids, have you considered small species of puffer fish eg, Figure of 8 puffer?? Or corydoras??

Dwarf Gourami are larger than honeys.

A F8 puffer will require brackish water, and I'm not sure a 60L is large enough to keep one.

I dont really want to go brackish and I want to keep my snails so puffers arent really an option!

Hmmmm...
