heyy everyone
considering its my birthday in a few weeks im planning on buying a new tank,
hopefully a juwel rio 125,
could this be used to house some malawi cichlids?
im then going to change my 70 litre community tank into a betta palace

Its not ideal tbh, most require a tank size that is 4 feet long and around 250Litres

at a push you may get away with a small numbers of relatively peaceful species like Labidochromis caeruleus but IMO if thats the biggest tanksize you have then you would be better to look at other more suitable species

tanginikyan cichlids would be more suited

you could go upto around 6 provided filtration was good and there was plenty of cover,

I'd go for 3 labs 1M2F
and 3 of something like P. Acei or Rustys again in the ratio of 1M2F

Agree with Truck though Tangs would give you more options
