I've been looking at the Crenicichla Regani (Dwarf Pikes) at rare aquatics, since they have a pair, I would like to breed them, my lfs says he would happily pay for the fry as he cannot ever get these in.
I have a spare jewel korall 60 available, about 54 litres.
Is this large enough for the pair alone?

I wouldnt risk it although Dwarfs they still get to a decentish size and quite chunky you would want a long foot print more than anything.

How long a footprint would be needed?
I can upgrade to a 20 long?
Also I would get the pair for my 90 but i'm scared they would become Oscar brunch?

Possibly Oscar fodder yes....

I would ideally like a 3 foot x 15 foot print but a 3x12 would work I think. As they grow though they do become quite reclusive mine hid in the bog wood tangle and perched out waiting for food like a true ambush predator...

Ah my next upgrade is a 6ft, i'm moving all of my stock over from the 90.
The current 90G is a 4x3x2.
Once all of the fish are moved, would this be suitable for the pair and maybe a few other fish?

pikes are amazingly beautiful fish but Ive never kept one Id class as being tankmate friendly and they can certainly punch above their weight

where you from mate if Rare Aq is close to you?

London, I was looking to order from them.
Dwarf pikes look amazing, not sure what other species of pike I could get though.
Still weighing up my options.
