Well, as you know, my teacher has a 10-gallon tank at school. *le sighs* This was the stocking a few days ago, before the girl who has lots of guppies came in:
- 4 zebra danios
- 1 male guppy
- 3 female guppies
The girl brought in some more guppies. She brought in, like, 2 more females, 3 more males, and 3 baby fry and 1 fry that looks like it's going to be a female, and it's already, like, half an inch long.
One of the baby fry was sorta deformed (it's spine was bent, so it looked like a more obtuse v), and it was gone the next morning. So, this is the current stockings:
- 4 zebra danios
- 4 male guppies
- 5 female guppies (or, it could be 4)
- 1 probably-a-month-old fry
- 2 baby fry
Now, the reason I ask if the females will die is because there are 2 or 3 fatter females; two of the males seem very mating-oriented, and they are constantly one of the three. The other two males are sort of okay; definitely not as crazy. But I can tell that the females being bugged by those two males seem to get a little stressed and annoyed whenever the males try to nudge their anuses with their noses, and they will hide at the bottom of the tank, where those males don't usually like to go. However, they come up for feeding, or somethings -- and the males are on them like a shot. Not always -- just, sometimes.
Any help? My class doesn't like me, so they're not gonna take my advice (I try to bring it up, and they say, "Oh, it's fine"....); but *I'd* at least like to know if anything's gonna happen. ^^;
