So I've been trying to breed my bettas. I have been conditioning for about a weeks with the female and over a month with the male. I put her next to the tank hes in for 10 min everyday. She goes nuts. She flares, swims up and down and really wants in. He looks at her and swims away. Will this hnge or does he not want her. Like he doesn't make a bubble nest, and when he flares at her he shows his front gills and doesn't bother to flare his fins. What could be wrong. Also I have a plecko and he runs away when I walk into the room, are they scared of people or is he just a funny one. He cleans the tank great but hides in a pirate skull I have in there.

sounds like your male is not compatible with the female, this is very common, not worth breeding them. As for the Pleco they just do it as a natural instinct so do not worry.

ok well i put a mirror by his tank and he didn't flare at it either. what could be wrong?
