i have a 125 litre tank 33 gallons.

i have in it

1 bolivian ram
1 honey gourami
1 dwarf gourami
8 cardinal tetras

ould i have a couple of bosemani rainbow fish??

the bosemani's would prefer a longer tank. They get fairly sizeable and need more swimming room IMO.

well im upgrading to a 200 litre next year as im moving house and will have more space.so if i get them young would it be ok?

it's the length of the tank rather than the volume that's important.

I've moved this to the specific section so hopefully others with more knowledge with this species can give advice.

ok thanks.well the 200 litre tank im getting is 100 x 40 x 55 cm?? its a fluval roma 200

A 4-footer (120cm) or longer would be far better than the Roma 200, Bosemani are active fish that should reach close to 12cm.

I agree with ZoddyZod whole heartedly about tank length over volume, I would be happy to house a group of 6-9 Bosemani (with at least two females per male) in my 120x30x30cm (130l) long term, with a pair of Empire Gudgeon or Purple Spotted Gudgeon, for a biotope-esque setup.

also bosemani's are very greedy fish so you would need to think about the other fish in the tank needing to compete for food ... i have a 6foot planted tank with a school of 14 0f these in there .. only tank mates are 6 pims catfish the rainbows cover every inch of the tank very very active fish indeed wonderful colors if fed right
