What would be good fish/invertibrates to stir my sand substrate. I'd rather not have to stir it myself twice a week. I was thinking about getting cory's but i'm afraid clown loaches and my striped peacock eel would eat them. What do you think?

I've heard malaysian trumpet snails are good at stirring sand. Where can you buy snails? And would a tank wiht 4 clown loaches a peacock eel, and a red fin shark be able to keep their population under control?

Or are there any other snail or fish that could do the job?

MTS are good for sand stirring but the snails would take no time to eat them I am afraid. I am not sure on the temprament of the eel but kuhli loaches are good for it.

Did you mean that the loaches would take no time to decimate the snail population?

I think my eel could get along wiht kuhli loaches. That might be a good idea. I have a peacock eel which is the most peacefull of all the spiney eels.

Good i hate snails, they get every where and multiply way to fast :D
But I thought you wanted them to turn over your sand for you?
wrong person Dana,

corys are good, but ive never heard of eels or loaches eating them though

Ahhh not the OP

Clown loaches and cories shouldn't really go together. I can work but sometimes the loaches pick on the cories, I think a clown loach was to blame for one of my cories suddenly 'losing' an eye.
