Hi, hopefully this is not too much of an emergency but here goes....
I have 4 Corydoras trilineatus and there is one which is swimming oddly, I just found it wedged behind a plant facing upwards, but then it swam away, swimming round in circles on the ground. Its always been a bit of a funny fish, hiding and darting around if you go near the tank.
the corys are in a 60 litre tank with 3 green neon tetras, and the tank was cycled about a year or two ago. I have just come back from travelling for 4 months, having left the tank with my dad to look after. He did quite well with the water changes but to be honest the sand in the tank was pretty filthy when I got back. One cory had died (I used to have 5), and 2 of the remaining 4 have lost their barbels.
I did a really thorough clean of the substrate and a 75% water change, and the fish all seem to be pretty happy, except this one cory which has lost it's barbels, and also seems to have a damaged bottom fin (but no other injuries I can see). Its not swimming sideways or upside-down, just a bit wobbly and hiding, do you think it just needs that fin for balance?
thanks for any help you can give!
