So, I added an albino and bronze Cory, to my tank.
They are very, very active so far.  I mean, I see them on the bottom some (as I expected) but then lots of other times they are swimming all over the tank, particularly near edges.  And I mean fast.
Is this normal behavior?  I'm not complaining, I just expected them to me more full time bottom dwellers, so want to be sure this is normal behavior

I'm no expert about cories, but how long have you had them?

Fish in general will pace frantically up and down tank walls when they're looking for a "way out."  This can be common in newly introduced fish, overcrowded tanks, and tanks with bad water conditions.

If they're pacing isn't frantic, and you've been feeding them regularly, they probably see you and are looking for food. :)  That's another possibility.

Another possibility: younger Cory cats are generally more active. After a few weeks, as they mature, they will stay on the bottom. My six did exactly the same (I think they look like airplanes) but now that I've had them for a month and a half, they are rather settled. It is my understanding that this level of activity is common mainly in young cats.

Just one day.  My tank is def not overcrowded, and water tests good.
None of the others I've added up to this point have done it, so that's part of why I asked.  I'll continue to monitor, but guess I just wondered what their 'typical' swimming profile was.

Good to hear.  I know the albino is young.  Bronze is older, but not sure by how much.

Yeah there is nothing the matter with them. Albinos are also generally more active. That's one of the reasons I love them so much. They should settle in a few days if it is from being in a tank or in a few weeks if it is because of age. Their behavior is normal.

Corys do that. It's typical when introduced to a new tank or before they start spawning.

I'd suggest getting more of either bronze or albino. They're the same cory, just different colors, and they're much happier in bigger numbers of at least 6.

This, Corys are much more relaxed in larger numbers. Due to natural losses my corys were down to 3 and they seemed a bit agitated at times. They're much happier now I've added another 4.
