I have a 63 litre tank and have 3 zebra and 3 leopard Danios. I want to add a corry catfish but would appreciate some advice. So heres a few questions.

Can corries be mixed like Danios? such as a peppered Cory and a Albino Cory??

Ideally i would like to get two, but can they live on there own? Or is two to little??

Whats the best way to feed them??

I realise some of these questions are very basic and i have researched them by asking my LFS and google but i like to get opinions of people who have owned or has expierence in fish keeping.

Thanks in advance :good:

I think certain types of cories can be mixed and will shoal together. Bronze and albino for instance as they are variations of the same species. Not all will though.
They do need to be in larger groups, 4-6. I think they eat bloodworm and can adapt to most food that sinks.
Different species get to different sizes. I want some for a 60l, footprint 60x30cm. I was advised 4 trilineatus would be about OK maxingout at about 2". Some get to 3" though, which would be too big.
Then there are the pygmy ones, which stay about 1". You could easily have 6 in that sort of size.

go for as big a group of the same species if poss, they will be much happier and you will enjoy them more as they will be more adventurous :good:
different species may stick together but nothing like the same species :good:
also if you do mix then get similar sized corys. dont put pygmy in with bigger corys as this may well scare them unless you have big big groups of each :good:

An albino cory is almost always either A peppered cory or a bronze cory species that has been bred to be an albino. Since cories do best with their own species, they can do fine with those particular normal colored cories that match their own ancestry. If you get cories that are not the same species, they will not shoal together but they are also not aggressive to a different species so they will be safe together. I really like it when I have a large group, at least 6, of the same species corydoras. That is when you will see their playful nature come out.

im thinking of getting some corys as my next fish in my 60L tank, do they uproot plants?

Mine have but only by accident on new plants that havent taken root, mine heavily snuffle and snuffled too much around a new plant ;) the rest of the plants stay in place :good:
