on my polyps i have now ive been using kent marine's lugol's solution (iodine) in my tank. it uses about one drop per week, very strong and very successful. my flowrate is 700 GPH for a 37 gallon tank, my lighting is ok. other than that, should i add anything else to the tank for successful coral keeping, or am I just fine?

Whoa there, Blind dosing is a bad idea, especially when you can ttest for that which you're dosing. Iodine really shouldn't ever need to be dosed in an aquarium... Only in rare cases should one do so. Usually the only dosing required for tanks is calcium and alkalinity, but not every reef tank requires it. Mine did not until most recently as my coral load has increased I've found that I need to dose calc and alk. If you do test and find your calc/alk slowly deteriorating, you might want to try a DIY additive. Before you even consider doing so, please read this article on basic reef chemistry.

When you've read all that and your brain hurts then we'll consider dosing ;)
