I got my pleco a while back, and my flying fox before that. The pleco is still about two inches, and the flying fox is 2 and 1/2 or 3.
My false flying fox had been the most attractive and active guy, swimming and getting some algea (he attacks the pellets first.)
So anyways, the pleco and flying fox started copying each other in the course of the past month. I heard the fox gets mad at algea eaters, but this was the oppisite, thank god
Time 1 notice: The pleco was happily sucking the front glass, and the fox came up about an inch from it, and was sucking on the glass as well, tyring to stick apparently, and was going up and down, trying it's best to stay verticle like the pleco, and managed to for a good 45 seconds, till it gave up and swam away. this happened serveral times
- about 7 days later....
Notice 2: I had heard and thought common plecs to be very inacctive, but he began doing slow version swims that my flying fox does, same patterns, going around plants and just swimming. He's also developed orange finds. UT orange. And it doesn't look bad. it looks like actual coloration. (could be the algea wafers every 2 days... heh... can't help it... the fox, him, and some other guys eat it. they dissapear in a day....) But he's gorgeous. It's also on a thin line on his upper fin. and he's getting as active as the fox, and the fox seems to love the company
Notice 3: Wow... i was stunned... they actually learned to share and eat an algea wafer at the exact same time. And they were doing so untill interupted rudely five minutes later by blood worms, which the flying fox took off to eat
but yes. they get along exceptionally well and copy each others behaviour. it's fun to watch! Any comments on the pleco color change/behavior would be nice, as well as with your own fish.
