I made the mistake of getting a scooter blenny and a rainsford goby at the same time for my 24g nano. Before anyone says anything... I know!!! How can I possibly substain the two of them with enough live food. Is there anything I can do to suppliment their diet? I tried embedding fish flakes into the sand with no success. I also purchased a culture of copepods but I fear that the little pods will all be devoured before they have time to reproduce. I feel as though I made a big mistake purchasing the two. The LFS has a no refund policy.

Culture the pods in a seperate system. It sounds hard but it's not. Just use a 2L coke bottle with an air hose. (Saltwater obviously not Coke). they are easy to culture, can feed cycopleeze, or phyto, I culture the phyto to.

You could also get a refugium so the pods can breed without being interupted. With my current setup, I feed only fresh water ghosts for the seahorses. the other 5 fish all are sustained on the pods and mysids from the refugium. the youngest of these fish I've had for 2 years the oldest for 5.

is it possible to add a refugium to a 24g nanocube? in regards to the pods raised in a 2 liter, do you need to keep the water heated? thanks for the input.

Its always possible to have a refrigium, you just have to get creative sometimes ;)

wow, not to sound like a jerk but how long have you been doing that? Don't get me wrong, i've never kept seahorses but i know feeding freshwater feeders to other fish like lionfish will kill them over time, they can't breakdown the freshwater fats or something. I didn't realize that the seahorses could eat that

Generally cyprinidids, most often goldfish are bad new even as fresh water feedes, they are made of junk food.

I have kept my WC reidi seahorse alive for 5 years feeding the live fresh water ghost shrimp. He was a full grown adult when I purchased him as a WC, he has already lived his life span. I think the nutritional value of the food is adaquete.

The reason I do not feed salt water feeders is they are more likely to carry parasites. I go through a hundred or so shrimp a week, I don't have time to QT them all to remove the parasites and with my current success I am not inclined to do so.
