Well, after last night's "Big Freeze", I couldn't resist braving the arctic temperatures in my pyjamas just to take some shots of this very cool cobweb. I have never actually seen one with ice droplets on it before!

What do you think?

Wow, that's pretty amazing that it could withstand the weight of the ice! Only question is - where's the spider?? :)

hehe, its like charlettes web!!!!

Breeze7050, good question!

lol
that really is pretty cool though.

Spider's web material is stronger than steel when you campare strength/mass so its not too suprising. But You can see some places where it did break. So it's right at its breaking point. A strong gust of wind will prob cause it to shatter

Excellent macro shots julibob!!! :good: If you don't mind my asking, what type of camera do you use? A little surprised, no comments from Moray? Thanks for sharing!!

Cheers for all your comments everyone! I love photography, but most of my pictures tend to be macro shots of a natural subject. My camera is an Olympus SP500-UZ. Not as good as I expected it to be, but pretty good on the close-ups which is what I use it for mostly! :D

Yeah my Mom got the same Olympus SP500-UZ for Christmas but I have used it more than her so far :D I too like taking Macro pictures but I use the Super Macro mode more often. It really is a great camera and I have enjoyed it a lot so far :) Great pictures ;) Any tips?
