Now that my convicts have successfully bred, will they ever return to being less aggressive?

The chinese algae eater, who once ruled and did the best job of cleaning the tank, is still relegated to hiding by the filter intake. Private Ryan, the firemouth, has almost fully recovered his fins (as some of you may have read) in the other tank. The tiger barbs and lone remaining zebra danio are huddled at the top of the tank. They all look healthy, just not real happy.

Secondly, could a large pleco better hold it's own than the cae against the convicts?

Don't get me wrong, the convicts are terrific fish and if I could manage to have some harmony, we'd all be happier.

Thirdly, there are approximately 25 convicts left that seem to be flourishing. Most have coloring ranging from a more dotted pattern to being able to distinguish the vertical lines. About half a dozen are white without a hint of black. What accounts for this difference in color?

Thanks,

I have had my hand in the tank and had the male take a number of runs at me. Doesn't hurt but until you get used to it, it is an odd feeling.

One of the albino tiger barbs likes to nibble at my hand when I'm vacuuming the gravel. Much more fun than being attacked.

I'll have to keep researching the coloration issue and the algae eater size thing.

let me know if you find out anything about the colouring, cause I have the same thing here. both parents are black and white striped.
and most of the fry are the same, but about a quarter of them don't have colouring or stripes or anything...
maybe they will grow up to be pink convicts?
