Hiya,

I have a nice pair of calico convicts, I have some 3 week old fry at present which are strong swimmers and you can make out the colours. I feed mine on some very very small trout pellets. I change the water 50% every two weeks.

Im at the stage where im thinking about moving them now. Might be able to get some pics at the weekend if you would like them.

how long does it take a fry convic to grow into a small fish ,,

My convict fry have taken about 8 months to reach 3" in length. Not all of them are that big as some are only 1" in length. They all hatched at the same time. Males grow faster than females, in general. The parents of the fry when they hatched were 5" long for the male and 3" long for the female. The male is no longer in the tank to keep from having nine thousand fish in the tank. The female ist still about 3" long, she has not grown much at all in the 8 months.
