Contemplating New Tank

myself and the girlfriend are moving into a new house shortly and she has suggested getting another tank,(nearly fainted when she said it) i would be happy to get a similar size tank to what i have (rio 180l). i was thinking about trying a few discus but think the tank may be a bit small for that. if i could get a bigger tank say 300l would that be enough to keep a few discus with some rainbowfish from my existing tank or would the rainbows be to fast moving for them.
any other tips or advice

i don't know anything about discus , but i was talking to my LFS guy and he said you could keep a pair in a 40 Gal breeder. So if he is right you should be ok as 300 liters is 79 gallons.
