So they have been on my wish list for a long long time but never got them - no particular reason just when I went to a shop they didnt have them in. They are one of those fish I see in other peoples tanks and get real envy over them.

One of my local shops has some in and they look pretty nice not sure if they are B.Cupido or B.Wavereni - pretty sure they will be a farm bred group so wont be one of the un-described species.

I know a few people on here have kept them so just looking what peoples experiences are like?

I was planning for them to go in my main tank (only tank) 135g - 6foot tank.

Current fish are

1 Heros Severus (true mouth brooder)
1 Threadfin Acara
2 Agenisous cf.Atronasus
6 Giant Tetras
5 Annostomus Ternetzi
4 Dwarf Hoplos
2 Flagtail Catfish
3 Whiptail Catfish - 2 Sturisoma sp. 1 Loricarade sp.

I think they should fit in pretty well :) But let me know what you think.

Well.... I got a group of 6 today just got them in the tank about 10 mins ago - seem to be doing okay one is still very dark but hoping they will pick up - the bigger fish all seem okay but my Giant Tetras are having a bit of a look in... which I dont think the Cupids are appreciating...

Was quite tempted by a group of splash tetras as well but decided to walk away as I don't know much about them.

Looking forward to seeing a photo of the tank including the new cichlids, in the relatively new gaff at some point. ;)

+ 1 :)

Also just read up a bit on splash tetra ( I'd never heard of them ) they would be facinating to keep. Apparently they "leave the water" to lay eggs on leaves etc & the male then splashed said eggs to stop them drying out. That would be amazing to watch!

Good luck with the new additions.

Thanks guys :) I have a bit of a superstition about pics - 2 weeks after settling and Ill get some up. I know its a bit silly but just something that wont let me do it...

Liam - MA have some awesome fish in atm - those splash tetras are in there and the darter tetras round the corner, you dont see either of them everyday!! And those GIANT Platties they have are pretty spectacular.... Im almost tempted to get them in my tank they are that impressive...

The Cupids seem to be doing well tonight very timid very very timid but ate well, they are so so tiny makes me appreciate how much some of my other fish have grown since I got them. My Threadfin was about the same size as these when I got him and now he is ginormous in comparison.
