Well, my ram layed it's eggs...and as I suspected the male did not fertilize them...but to make matters worse, the other female wouldn't allow her to lay her eggs...she kept attacking her and attempting to eat the eggs :grr: ...I tried to keep her away with a net handle, but it was futile...I played fishy-midwife for about 30 minutes before I finally gave up...I knew the eggs wouldn't thrive being unfertilized, but I wanted the lady to be able to, at least, lay her eggs in peace... then to even worsen the situation, one of my Discus came over and started eating the eggs...my Ram was so mad, she started attacking the Discus  ...this little 1 1/2 inch fish going at this 4 inch fish, full on...she's a feisty one...
Well, anyway...it's been a draining night...I must go and rest...I just feel so badly for my little fish..oh, and did I mention that she has a deformed little tail...looks like she got it slammed in a door...ouch...but that's one of the reasons I'm so protective of her- like Nemo...poor little thing...I always root for the under dog!

sorry to hear that, next time you may want to seperate the rams into another tank. this will give them some peace. or you could just let nature take its course.
