Confused About Honey Gouramis

Okay so from what I've gathered there are three types of honey gouramis, the natural ones that are more of a golden brown and two color morph versions a yellow and a red. So I have two of the yellow with red fins (think falls into the yellow cadegory) I think I have a male and female but since they are not the golden brown ones I couldn't find any useful information on sexing them. I got some semi crappy pictures of them hoping someone would be able to help me out

The one I think is the Female

Pretty sure is a male

You need to try n get two pics of them with their dorsal fins up.

Basically males have longer pointy dorsal fins

Females have shorter rounded dorsal fins.

Looking at those pics I'd probably say they are both male. But the first one is a younger male.

I'll try, they never stay in one spot long enough lol. Does it help that the first one is a bit bigger than the second?

i breed honey gouramis and i would definately say 1st is female and second is male - immature (as soon as he gets sexually mature he will also develop a black line under his eyes - like eyeliner)-- will try and get a piccy

Thanks so much!! I was really hoping that I had a male and a female. I was hoping to some day breed them, I read that it's pretty similar to bettas. I'll have to look you up when they're old enough

I have one red honey gourami that i'm pretty sure is a female too, what do you think about this one?

haha thank you very much. I thought my pics were a little subpar but i'm very glad that you like them I guess i've got a good little point and shoot! (even if it is ancient lol)
