I have been through my species book, but because it is a juvenille, the ID is so hard.

mmmmmm look at the pattern on the fins. Yours has no patterning.

Its doing my head in, I have a few species books, but they all show adult fish.

Isn't that just an old name for the JD (rocio octofasciatum)? If so I don't think its that.

yeah i just had to google that to make sure? I don't think its a jack Dempsey either, the dorsal fin doesn't look right
