Compatibility Of Apple Snail

Hi everyone! Are apple snails compatible with ottos? I orginally thought that the snails clean the tank but found that is not the case. I have a 20gal tank and am thinking about getting an otto or two but need to know if they will be ok with my snail. I have a swordtail which sometimes goes after the snail but so far its just a little nudge. Hopefully thats as far as that will go. I saw on the site that you need to feed the snail other than the leftovers from the fish but what is the best thing to feed them.
