Compatability Issue

Has anyone had any issues with keeping an Opaline Gourami with a Blue Ram? I just got my blue ram today and my gourami has been all over him since I've put him in. I tried moving some of the structure around to break territory bonds but opaline keep harassing the ram. My ram has already received a little damage to his tail so I pulled my gourami out.

Can anyone give me some suggestion?

Yes I am fairly new to aquariums, so please bare with me.

Tank right now is 6 neons, 3 danios, 1 fancy guppy, 1 opaline, 1 ram.

Both fish are territorial and showy and so will often not get along. There are ways to make it work like a big enough tank or heavy planting, but in general it's not a great mix.

Thanks for the help, luckily I have another tank at work to house one of the two.

Had exactly the same problem with a dwarf gourami and a pair ofblue rams, the gourami got evicted after several attempts at re-arranging the tank and removing him and reintorducing failed completely.
