Coming Back To New Worlds

Yeh it changed a few months ago for Rivulatus, Pulcher, Latifrons, Coeruleopunctatus, Sp Gold Saum, Sp Silver Saum etc

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andinoacara

I kinda got my heart set on a pair of Gold Saums now....now if only i can find some!!

Anybody know any trustworthy sites that sell them? i want 5

You could also go for the more colorful Paratheras variety. You could try to get your hands on these two species:
P. synspilus
P. zonatus

To be fair its hard enough to get hold of what many people class as 'common' Gold Saum let alone some fish i never heard of :p

I have about 8 shops local and another 3 in Yeovil that i go to alot...they all seem to stock the same Cichlids...Convicts, Severums, Firemouths, Geos, , Angels, Discus, Mbuna etc

Occasionally they have Texas but i kinda gone of them.

They have Butterkoferi in Yeovil watermarque but i have seen adults and they look liek they need 6ft+ tanks..they are a massive Fish.

Can anybody point me to a online store I can order 5 Gold Saums from? preferably UK

Edit: if i do give up and get a sub adult male SS of around 5" i got some 3" Females...do you think he would kill them?

And do they pair up easy like say Convicts do? or is there more work involved? ie: natural pairing...multiple females.

I bought 2 Blue Acaras once from 2 diff shops and they paired up and bred immediately!... I sold the male to the pet shop when i switched to Mbuna...sold the female to my friend and a few months later he bought the male again...fro mthe pet shop and they instantly paired up and bred again!

Are Green Terrors that easy to breed?

Also how about a Silver Saum and a Gold Saum together?

Yeh i put up a add earlier and browsed but they are all up north etc...nothing ever happens down here in sleepy Somerset lol :p

I was going to suggest Wildwoods (google tropical fish finder uk) as that is where I got mine from, as I too couldnt find any in stores in my area and since having him have only seen them in one since, which were no way as beautiful as mine.

However, at the moment they dont have any in stock, but you could keep checking, they are expensive, mine was over £30 INCLUDING SHIPPING. But worth it.

You could get them from here (direct tropicals): http://www.directtropicals.co.uk/index.php...;products_id=48 They can be a bit hit and miss and these are young so unsexable.

Woah thats kinda pricey :p my last one cost me £5 which looks identical :p Wish i never sold it to be honest but it would of been hard to pair it off now anyway because it would of grown.....so better off starting again anyways i suppose.

Just got another 4 from Yeovil watermarque (1 male + 3 females) so will deffo get a pair here :D

Gonna keep my Labs and Convict in there until they are mature enough to breed and may get some dither fish like Giant Danios.

Hows best to have the decor for the GT's? Its a bare tank right now with no substrate after clearing out all of my Mbuna stuff and doing 2 x 100% water changes.

The guy in the shop threw in a free juvi Green Texas cichlid that he couldnt sell so i'm gonna keep him for a bit...grow him up and sell him on...he was free and never kept one before :D ... I understand hes a no-no long term but will be fun while i can keep him and he cost me nothing.

I was gonna take a picture of that amazing Oscar i told you about but they sold him :(

Decided to stick with the 4 GT's i have for now and not go with the ones from ebay as he was tryign to fob me off with new born fry lol! screw that they wouldnt last 2 mins!

Im gonna see how my 1 Male + 3 females get on and if needs must...i'll add him some more females.
