My columbian shark stomack is really fat like a ball. hehe Why is he that fat could he be pregant or overfeeding? Its been for 1 week.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Can the fish maintain its balance in the water.
Whats it look like when the fish go to the toilet.
Has the fish gone pale or darkened in colour.
What do you feed the fish.

My tank is a 27 gal tank. All stats are good. I have a silver shark with him in the tank. He swims crazy when he feels there is somebody watching him. Yeah swim normally. Same color. I am feeding him algea wafers flakes and cichild pellets.

Don't feed for two days over feeding yes can cause problems.
Look into there diet needs.

Can you get a video or pic up of the fish.

Ok, cut the feeding out for aday or two to see if that makes a difference, I would look into rehoming it as they need large tanks.
Good luck.

27 gallon will ultimately be too small for both fish.

The silver shark will grow to around 10" and will really need something in the order of 6 feet long.

The Columbian shark normally refers to a high end brackish/marine catfish. this will happily eat enough to make its belly swell right up. This is perfectly natural catfish behaviour and nothing to worry about. So long as the water parameters (most notably ammonia and nitrate) are not fouling up then there is nothing to worry about and you would be fine feeding as you have been (though slightly smaller portions will allow for fewer water changes and should make the belly recede somewhat).

Assuming you have a Hexanematichthys seemanni then you will want to feed a varied diet of meaty foods, often heavy in inverts (muscles prawns etc.). check out the brackish section of the forum for more info as nmonks has offered some very good advice on these, and CFc owns a few as well.

To recap:

1) don't worry bout the belly, it is perfectly normal for a well fed catfish to bloat up like that, just consider feeding a little less, or less often.

2) you have two fish that grow to around a foot long and each does far better in (as in needs) the company of conspecifics. Shoals of at least 3-5 (the more the better) are required.

3) you have the perfect excuse to buy more, larger, tanks. ;)
