my little sister has a 6gal tank in her room which recently housed a male betta, sadly he has recently pasted away of old age, so could anyone recommend small colourful fish that she could maybe have a few of, if not then i guess another betta coming my way :shifty:

would a trio of female platies work?

perhaps a some gold medakas or long fin white cloud moutain minnows

you could have some
guppies they r colourful
and they will breed so she would find
it sweet if they breed

Get her like 5 or 6 neon tetras they are about as colorful as they come and vary active and the bets part is there cheap!

i wouldnt in my opinion put neons in a 6 gal their active little fish and their wouldt be enough room but thats me personally :)
regards scot :)

Maybe some tuxedo or tequila sunrise guppies? Small and great colors, perfect for a little kid :)

Have you thought about shrimp? They are more suited to smaller tanks than many fish.

No guppies i'm afraid mainly because i have about a million, well slight over count
She loves the look of Cherry shrimp and i was thinking of getting some anyway so could grab a few more

how about 3/4 cherries and 4/5 WCMM or endlers?

Endlers.
One of the Microrasbora species e.g. Kubotai, Maculatas etc.
Ember Tetra.

 I hate it when people put forward so many different options when you are planning a few small tanks of your own!!

Great suggestions though, for something a bit different maybe a single Dwarf Puffer, would make a great pet for your sister.

like the idea of a puffer but would have no idea where to start with one, will look into one though :good:

I am getting one myself, kep on their own with good water quality and plenty of plants they look pretty straight forward to look after but I will let you know in about 4-5 months once I have had it for a little while.
