Last year, I bought a betta who I named Matamoras. He has some very interesting coloration; gingery-orange fins, a darker orange head, and turquoise scales on his body. There are red and blue streaks throughout his fins, and overall he is a lovely looking fish. However... I don't know what color he would be considered. My other bettas are pretty simple; blue, red, etc. but this guy, I can not figure out. So, if any of your betta-savvy people would know, or could direct me to a site where I could find out for myself, it'd be great. I'm just curious ^^

Matamoras. The picture does his colors very little justice, however; his fins are more of a pale gingery color without the flash, and his scales look more brilliant and turquoise-y in normal lighting. And no, he doesn't have fin rot; his fins have always looked translucent and transparent on the ends.

I'm not very good on colours, so I'd say multicoloured, but he's pretty

Good sig and av by the way, lives_not_decorations is my ebay account soley for complaining aboout betta and goldfish tanks :D

He is beautiful! I love that picture, it looks like hes yawning...either that or saying
"Hey buddy, FEED ME NOW!"

What a gorgeous fish !
His tail looks like glimmery soft chiffon :hey:

I hope someone can answer your question. Just tonight I was trying to take a picture of a girl I have that has the same colouration as yours. Only she is a girl. And I can't get a decent pic that shows all the colours you are describing.

I was thinking possibly some kind of imperfect mustard gas, but I am far from an expert.

I have no idea... but look at the tail on that guy!!!

Great pic
