Fish Fanatic
so i want to get an elephant nose fish but they are a pain to feed and my tank is a 65g octagon so its 3ft high which makes it hard to get to the bottom so i came up with the idea of colonizing food to live in the sand. I have never tried this and wanted to get some peer review, im definitely going to colonize amphipods due to everything I've read saying they are great for aquariums in general due to eating detritus and they're easy to keep alive, but idk how to go about the worms, black worms are commonly used as the main component in elephant noses diets so i wanted to do them, but they require cooler water and mines always at 78-80, so i started looking up tubifex worms and while they are more likely to colonize they have a high chance of being infected with parasites. Would it be possible to keep the worms in a bucket and add some sort of anti-parasite formula? and if not what can I colonize that would provide a food source for the elephant nose. and if there is nothing i just wont get the fish but im not afraid to some work to make this work out.
