Folks, if you have not yet tried colloidal silver, I would strongly urge you to consider it. Not only just for remedies to ailments, but as on overall way to perk up your fishes.

Consider this...
I have had Six (my sheepish, scaredycat finicky little baby of a crowntail) for several months now. Recently I noticed his fins started to curl a bit so I thought I'd bring in some colloidal from home and put a few drops into his tank. Until that day he had spent most of his time being a lazy little freak, laying on leaves in his tank, resting lazily on the bottom of the tank, pretty clamped up, was terrified of me, etc.

Whellll... after I put in the few drops of colloidal and went home, came in the next day to find a changed fish. He was constantly in full puff form - all fins puffed to the max, he swims around like he's strutting AND... he now builds bubblenests. The last water change, I left the silver out. NO nesting and lots of resting with clamped fins. Just added silver this morning after his water change and he's flaunting all over that tank once again. I can't believe the difference in him when I use it.

I would HIGHLY recommend getting some of the stuff if for no other reason than to have it on hand for if/when your fish is feeling under the weather.

IT was the BEST 30$ I have spent on anything fishy related to date. AND.. the stuff is a miracle worker for missing or damaged fins or bodies.

Agreed.

I gave everybody silver water before I left this week and I came home to perfect fish

you don't want to do it every water change though (from my understanding), right? or is it OK with collodial?

Oh, now I want some. Where do you get it? I'm not sure if I will be able to order anything. Do some lfs's carry it? I will check it out.

Trace amounts are fine for every water change, but I like to make them go a few weeks without it every now and then so that their immune system doesn't become dependant on it. That's just my personal preference though.

I am going to with Six at every water change unless someone tells me otherwise - I guess I'm just not sure what the answer is there.

EDIT: I should point out that I used 2 drops in his 2.5G tank. Hardly seemed like it would be enough to matter, but it DOES. :)

I usually use it with everyone else - my girls who were in a massive tiff had some really ripped up fins and they healed up pretty nicely very fast with it, so I guess I will just be using it on an as-needed basis with everyone else.

Do you think it word be beneficial to swim bladder guys?
If it's physical damage it will help. Swim bladder usually comes from internal bruising, and the silver works wonders at repairing damaged tissue. If it's water in the organs OR a deformity it really won't be able to do much besides keep the swelling down.
