College Humor -- Goldfish + Sink

Would you think it humorous if they had a kitten stuck in a fishtank or something? Just cause it's 'temporry'?
Well, a long time ago I put my kitten in an empty 20 gallon and took pictures.

Haha.

the bowl should be upside down, to hold the air down for the kitten
That goldfish should probably lay off the steroids, too!

Obviously people here lack the capacity to get a joke. Everything is something to decry around here.
Well said Teelie.

It's obviously only temporary, because the owner of the sink will probably want it back at some point. The presence of dechlorinator shows that they obviously know something about what they're doing, and that the water in the sink is probably dechlorinated.
Im pretty sure its just a joke, its not funny but im not getitng bent out of shape becuase the person would want to use there sink again..maybe they put the little guy in the toilet when they need to use the sink and vis versa!

When I said a kitten in a fishtank I meant a full one :p

That picture you posted is not the same though - it was obviously made on computer and is rather cute. No one (I hope) would see that and think - ooo lets drown a kitten :p

Anyway, I was just trying to make a point - stupid people who see the goldfish may decide to do the same and they may not be knowledgable and the result might be the death of an innocent fish. I don't think using a fish to amuse people is fare.

Exactly. My picture was a joke, and so was the one on the website. No one is stupid enough to think it's a good idea to permanently leave a goldfish in the sink, trust me.

oh common u guys!!! thats like saygin those pictures of kittens stuck in tiny shoes is animal cruelty! it is just a joke

on the other hand, maybe it is proper fish tank that the faucet is disconected, and the fish is kept there, really there is nothing wrong with that...

If it's a joke or not, I think that people need to do something worth doing in their spare time, not stressing out helpless fish....... even if it is the permenent setup, it's WAY too small, or the fish is really big, either way, the sink is too small.
just my opinion....

i don't like that website much. many of the guys living on my hall love it (probably for all the boobies and bongs) but i've always found it rather distasteful.

I realize that it was probably done for a joke, but the fact that it was done is what worried me the most.

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, there are two guys here what want to take two of my bettas and fight them in a bathtub. Like the goldfish in the sink, this would also be a temporary setup and they'd go back to their homes later. The only difference is, they'd have fought while in there and would probably have seriously hurt themselves.

There are some people who would see that picture, and then think it was okay to keep their goldfish this way. Some dorms [like where I live] have 2 sinks in the bathroom, so it's quite possible that the goldfish was a permanent setup in that one, and they just continued to use the other sink the rest of the year.

I wouldn't put it past some people to do this permanently. There are some people in residence who buy goldfish from Wal*Mart as a joke, and play with them while they're drunk or dare someone to swallow the fish. I ended up keeping one a few years ago to save it from someone's stomach. I just hope that people who see this picture don't try to duplicate it as a permanent situation.
