I have what I thought was 2 Golden Sunset Honey Gouramis, because I found pics online that looked like them. After a bit more research I found other pictures that matched mine & they called them Colisa Labiosa or Thicklipped Gouramis. They were sold as Dwarf Gouramis but they clearly aren't. Colisa Chuna is known by the common name of Honey Gourami, while Colisa Labiosa is known as Thicklipped Gourami.

Honey Gouramis only get about 2-2.5 inches long and Thicklipped Gouramis get to be up to 4 inches long. Mine are currently just under 2 inches long & one is starting to mature as his dorsal has grown to a very long point.

My question is, how can I tell the difference? Also, is it possible that they are a hybrid of Chuna & Labiosa?

Where's Ludwig Venter when you need him ?

Here's a blurry pic of one of mine:

Honey gourami.

That's what I thought but then I found this link with a pic that looks exactly like mine:

Is it possible that it's a hybrid of a Honey & Thicklipped? I mean there's pictures & definitions that vary greatly on the web.
