Ok this may sound like a totally stupid question but I'm curious, when my husband and I were doing the shopping my toddler picked up one of those soda stream co2 cannister things and when my husband took it off her he said "there you go co2 in a bottle you don't need that nurafen thingy" I laughed and told him not to be so silly, but then I thought, could it be done?

Is it possible to use the soda stream co2 cannister things? Surely you have to get the co2 out of it to put into a drink(I don't know how those things work) so there must be a way of getting it into an aquarium? Or am I being a total idiot as they are probably totally unsuitable. Just thought I'd ask :)

Also I bought a couple of tanks the other day and got a massive box full of spare / old equipment and in it was a nutrafin diffuser & container but no lid or tubing, is there any way I could use it, or does anyone have a spare lid I could have :)

No not being stupid, CO2 is CO2, but you would need a special regulator in order to use it properly, some people have modified regulators for CO2 used for paintball, tbh more trouble than its worth, a CO2 fire extinguisher is really all you need and would give you decents amounts of CO2 without having to change the cylinder every week or so.
