you dont ever hear of our American friends on PT complaining of this buildup time lag, hmmm but there again i guess most of them are using ph controllers along with solenoids so its not an issue for most of them as the CO2 just switches on as needs be.
I've noticed that myself although this is not true nature i.e. a mass of water will not have a constant PH reading all day long as this would swing throughout the day and as such CO2 levels would increase/decrees by some margin - I have noticed this often with the aid of my PH monitor. The lag issue has me thinking about adding extra light for a section of the day - maybe 2 - 3 hrs midday, this should simulate a midday burst of light and with it a slight increase in temp.

currently have 3.25WPG running 10hrs so thinking of adding an extra double 55W [this is from my DIY ballast]

Going to rig up the Azoo and powerhead first to see how that goes for a while then will try the spraybar - never worked out bbp and the Azoo acts as bubble counter - If I was to place it near the spraybar then I would loose sight of the counter.

Good to hear or not as the case may be that there is no increase to filter noise though.

Some of them inject 24/7 - Rex Grigg for one.

What way have you got your spray bar pointing or what way do you use it?

And what sort of surface agitation do you have?

And how big is your tank? I know its 33 gallons is that US or imperial?

Well Zig, the spray bar is on the side about an inch under water spraying across. The flow is parallel with the surface, so there is only a very small ripple. But it does has a circular current, if you understand that.
My tank is 33 US gallons.
I have been reading about your method of killing algae with Flourish Excel, and as the algae seems to be growing still with the co2 at 45, I think I'll give that a go.

George, reading your routine has made me realise that my answer is simple(D'oh). I have my co2 plugged into a timer. So all I have to do is set the co2 to the level I what, work out how long it takes to reach that level and set the timer accordingly. And it's better than have a diffuser. I was so rapped up in thinking it takes time to build up the co2, I didn't stop to think what was better, a little more co2 usage or a diffuser in the tank!

Ste_J, I think there is a little more noise coming from my filter but I can only repeat what George has said, it's not noticeable.
