Co2 Fire Extinguishers

is it complicated rigging up a system where the lights/co2 are all on timers making it automated when each thing comes on/cuts off?

Unless you're me then it's simple. My lighting unit takes 7 plugs and 7 timers. lol.

You have a non return valve to prevent any blackflow but I only ever get water in the diffuser and not up the pipe. I don't think it turns into a siphon but I could be wrong when the pressure drops.

I hope you're using an NRV anyway. If it does syphon or the solenoid fails then it can mean having to replace the solenoid and regulator!!! 50p for a check valve (or more if you want a god one) is cheaper than the reg assembly by a long way.

Coley... I think it's down to the fact you are gifted and skilled, for one you managed to get a Nanotank by "mistake".

Not really gifted and skilled. More a case of being very tight plus never happy until something is doing what it should and working to the max.

I didn't really get the Nano tank 'by mistake'. I intended to get it however changed my mind and cancelled. Was confirmed cancelled by the 'sender' yet it still arrived. lol

First quote wasn't me :p Other 2 were!

Any idea is my TMC V2 Regulator is compatible with fire extinguishers or do I need an adapter?

I know I was answering 2 posts within 1 post. Sometimes I answer loads within 1 post :)

Yes it is. In the main all the regulators you buy are the same with the exception of some American connections. The ROW are using the same. Only exceptions being those that are made for disposable cannisters which can still be used on FE or standard cylinders with an adpator.

Seeing as this is about FE CO2 i'll pop my frustration in here seeing as the conversation is rife also.

Since January 18th 2011 i have used two 2kg FE up. I don't know what the hell is going on but this morning i turned the second one one and it isnt starting up as usual. I'm guessing the pressure has dropped and thus it won't work...which means its empty. Frustrating, its noted in this thread that it can last 6-8 months for some. Well mine are barely lasting a month. Hmmmm

If you're using 2kg CO2 per month then you've either:

A - Got a leak
B - Have an 800ltr+ tank
C - Have dead fish
D - Have no fish and are blasting the CO2 in at crazy rates
E - Have fish, have no leaks, very ineefficient diffusion method.

A is the normal one although can be hard to find.

A- Likely
B- Its a 70L haha
C- Fish are all fine
D- Average about 2-3 bps. Don't use the CO2 indicator as it didnt comew with a suction cup to attatch inside with, so i'm going without currently. I go by the bps in the bubble counter and get it steady.
E- Using a TMC diffuser bought from AquaEssentials for a 125L tank.

Will take the entire unit into the bath tommorow to try and the leak. Submersing the entire thing will be easy enough then.
