Hey

This topic seems to have come up alot recently. I hear that the Nutrafin Co2 system is very popular, and i am currently on the look out for one. However i have heard about puting the air tube in the filter intake. Does this mean actaully pushing the tube up the little gaps? Is this alright?

Thanks

Depends what filter you have. If you have an external canister then yes you squeeze the Co2 tubing in the filter intake.

If you have a powerhead you can squeeze the tubing in the Venturi on the top.

The Venturi is a little intake on top of the powerhead. Usually they are blocked off with a little bit of plastic that can be pulled out to expose a hole just the righ tsize for fittin a bit of air line inside.

Not sure how you would do it on your filter if it has an air intake then put the Co2 in there if ot you will have to attach the pipe to the filter intake somehow.

Hey

If i can somehow maybe sqeeze the air line into the gaps in the filter for water intake, will this work?

Thanks

I imagine it would yes! If you hang the Co2 outlet near the filter intake the bubbles should get sucked into the filter anyway.

Ahh yes that sounds about right! Thanks :D

Now to work out how to hang it and stop it at night :/ any ideas? I could gaffa tape some of the tube to the tank and hope that the rigidness of the tube would keep it in position. :S

Be careful with gaffa tape, might be something harmful in the 'sticky' substance to the fish.. Maybe someone knows if its safe, but i dont think it would stay sticky for long.

I was thinking about using the gaffa tape just above the water. I need to have a bit more of a think about it though. :/

No need to stop it at night just leave it going. If you can't wedge it in place maybe find some suction cups that will attach on to it at the LFS or something along those lines. I would advise against putting gaffa tape in the tank.

Ahh suction caps, thats a good idea. How would i secure the suction caps to the pipe? Sticky stuff is out then.

You can get some designed for holding tubing I think, they have a little groove in the back that the tubing slides down.

Not sure on how your filter comes apart, but on my intake Ive used a tube connector pushed through from the inside so the fitting is secure.
