Hi

Im using EI doseing and a pressurised co2 using disposable co2 tanks and a glass spiro diffuser off aqua essentials I have set it to 1 bubble per second wich gives me 19mg/l is this fine or do I need to increase? I dont want to run out my co2 quickly so ive orded a solinoid to switch it on when the lights come on im just using a airline valve at the moment after my needle valve to switch off at night for now.

How do you know you have 19mg/l? If its by a test or by the KH/PH chart I would ignore that reading and get a drop checker+4dKH solution

As for bpm rates we cannot advise on a specific bps because it is different for all of us. It depends on the bubble counter, diffusion efficiency, circulation, tank size, plant mass, lighting etc.

1bps is a good starting point then with a DC keep adjusting the bps until it goes green. Best to do this on a day you can dedicate to this as you will need to make sure you don't go yellow or you will have no fish left alive. So adjust when you wake up. then every 2 hours check the colour of the DC. If it stays blue adjust the needle valve up and if it goes yellow then adjust the needle valve down. Once you are happy you have green that should be your bps and you can then use the bps and the drop checker as quick references for changes.
