Hi everyone,
Just curious about this for now. As im waiting for my drop checker and want to try and adjust this till then...

At what rate should my CO2 be dropping to get the achieved co2 level. Is it within a certain time, or by the end of its time period. For example, my ph is 7.4, and my kh is 4. That meaning i need to get my ph down to 6.6-6.8... Is this ment to hapen between my time period of, lets say, 10 hours? Or is it ment to reach this, say, with in 1 hour to reach optimimum levels ASAP?

Cheers,
Indir

IMO, the ph/kh method to measure CO2 levels is inaccurate. Wait for the dropchecker. What type of CO2 system are you currently using?

Thank you for the reply. Its actualy coming tomorrow. My PH dropped to 6.8 (i think) in a period of about 5 or 6 hours of running 2-3 bps.

Im running pressurised co2 into a DIY reactor.

Guess ill just ait for the drop checker :) Any suggestions how to use these most acurately?

Have you read this article? A Guide to Dropcheckers

One thing that I have found is that I like to take advantage of the mobility of the dropchecker. I will frequently, especially when I'm starting a tank, move it around and get various readings throughout the tank. Helps me plan the eventual scape better and allows me to judge my circulation. If I find that one part of the tank gets less than another, I have to adjust my circulation.

Great Tip! I might buy a second one and have it on oposite ends of hte tank. Thank you: ) Will have a read of that link now.
