I've started to realize that some of my plants aren't exactly making it quite as well as i wanted, while others are doing great. The only thing I can think of that would help is getting CO2 injection or some sort of additive.

While I don't have the money for a hundred dollar regulation system, my LFS does have a liquid CO2 additive for $10 a bottle...

Does anybody have any experience with these? Do you recommend it?

Here's what I'm talking about...

I doubt that you will be able to get the levels of CO2 that you need to make a difference with that additive. I may be wrong but I'm sure the other swill know more than myself. It would also be cheaper if you did a DIY CO2 system which would also have the abillity to inject a more suitable amount of CO2 into your tank. Myself I would go for the DIY method and save my money for some proper ferts.

i've been using all the proper fertilizers, nitro, phos, potas, etc. the only thing i'm laking is co2... and i thought that my air bubblers would do the job enough, but since i have dying plants i'm starting to think maybe not.

You need to use Seachem flourish excel, this is a liquid organic carbon an alternative to adding CO2 directly to the tank, the plants take carbon from the CO2 we add and excel is just a liquid alternative, it will work well is you have <2 WPG, over that and CO2 is the better option, you just dose it like any other liquid fertiliser.

Make a Co2 Generator.. There are so many links for one off google..

I started mine up a few days ago, and have added another bottle by now, and it's all free!! Well apart from the yeast and sugar, but that's cheaper than chips.

I read this to get me going...

i've actually been using Flourish Excel... didn't realize that it doubles as a co2 supplement

and i calculated it out and i currently have like, 2.2 WPG...while that doesn't seem that much more to ME, i may be wrong
