Hello everyone!!!

Some of you know, that I had two bristlenose catfish, and one of them passed away last week.

Now, that I only have one, it started growing like crazy.
It went from 2 inches to 3 in a week!!!
It also started to get more aggressive and clumsy. Before the other BN passed away, they where at the bottom whenever i was feeding, and didn't really pay that much attention to food until the lights where off. Now, he swims up and eats everything before the others!!!

Today, when i woke up, all the plants where dug out, and the stones and the wood was turned over as well, not to mention the gravel was mixed up too, and the thermometer has been pulled down to the bottom. It was a disaster! I had to redo the whole tank!
The other fish where terrified too, they where grouped together in a corner, while the BN was right in the middle of the tank.... :o

What should I do? I've never seen BN behave this way, they are usually really calm compared to plecos! :(

Any help is appreciated!

Last waterchange: 3 days ago
60L tank, Angel (6 inch), 2 clown loach (2 inch), BN
No changes to tank, regular feeding,
Perfect water perimeters.

How big is his tank? They need a fair amount of swimming space, but it seems strange that he has only just started doing it. :S

Do you have any other fish in the tank? It just seems a bit odd for a bristlenose to do so much damagE?

I have an angel and two clown loaches. They never do any damage.

____________
I am searching for a new tanks, so overstocking isn't an issue any more!

Oh my. Both those tank mates are unsuitable for that size tank. Angeles need I think it's like 30 gallon or something or maybe like 20" in height not sure and clown loaches need a 75 gallon+ tank because they live 20ish years and can grow over a foot long.

Ok just one more question. What size tank are you planning on?

You'll need at least a 300L with the clowns ok back to the plec now.

Is it not as simple as its looking for its friend and up rooting everything. Maybe try getting another BN

Yes, multiple hiding places. He is usually under a piece of wood. I tried adding multiple hiding places (Caves, ships, etc), but he never liked them. (I left them in there for about a month just to make sure.)

My friend has a BN, I could try to add him!

Problem is, you may end up with a BN fight!

Try and perhaps get hold of a female if he's male?
