Clown Loach

The fact remains though Sonic that you really need to:

A - Give them more room to grow into

B - Should keep more than two in a group

The reason the Silver Shark seems to want to hang around with another fish that they too should be kept in groups and need numbers to feel comfortable in their surroundings.

Yes I know, but once my back living room has been decorated i will be looking at getting another (bigger) tank for in there, but that will be quite a while off, but at the moment, they should be happy enough (and seem happy enough) in their current tank, with them only being about 3 to 4 inches between them

Its the silver shark im not sure what to do with at the moment, or when he starts to get too big for the tank, plus I take your point about them also being a schooling fish, he may end up going back to the LFS

On the subject of moving clown loaches, I moved mine into their new tank, and they have been fine,

Lucky you. Mine are still scared of the new environment. In the old tank, they were active all the time, in the new one they spend most of the time hiding. They are even afraid of me coming close to the tank... And this is three weeks after the move now....

On the subj of polka-dots: here is another psychological puzzle: today I've added four small ones (under 1in) to two bigger ones (about 1.5"), hoping for a happy reunion (as far as this is possible with polka-dots --- they are individualists). No such luck: the little ones try to join the big ones, the big ones are very unfriendly -- chase the small ones away. Are they territorial, or what?

Just to set the record straight: false alarm, after 24 hours the big ones accepted the small ones.

Mine took 6 weeks to fully become themselves after a move up. I know what you mean. They will be cool eventually.
